• Before getting laser hair removal, you should thoroughly check the credentials of the doctor or technician performing the procedure.
• You should stop plucking, waxing, threading and electrolysis for 4-5 weeks depends on the area before treatment. That’s because the laser targets the hairs’ roots, which are temporarily removed by waxing or all these options that mentioned above.

when you look at yourself following a visit to a laser hair removal clinic, you won’t see any immediate difference besides some redness or swelling from the laser. The hair is still present, but the thing that would make it grow is fried and gone. Without the follicles to anchor them, the affected hairs will fall out on their own over the following days.

Your skin needs to recover from the laser treatment. Even after any initial swelling fades, your skin is still going to be a bit raw and sensitive—it was just blasted by a laser, after all.

You MIGHT notice redness and swelling for the first few hours after laser hair removal, that’s normal. To reduce any discomfort, apply ice to the treated area.

Ingrown hairs are caused by hair shafts that do not “grow out” of the skin properly and become buried within the skin itself. This can cause irritation, bumps, infections or cysts. Since the laser destroys the hair follicle, the source of the ingrown hair, it is the ideal way to eliminate these problematic hair shafts, often permanently.

Ingrown hairs can be caused by almost every hair removal method, except Laser.  Waxing and shaving in specific can result in breakage of the hair. The tugging on the hair causes the hair to break half way while the rest of the hair remains attached. The hair then tries to grow but has been disrupted causing the hair to coil. The result is then a large red swollen ingrown hair.

Avoid exposing to the sun before and during the time you are being treated. Don’t expose the skin that’s being treated for at least four weeks before and after laser treatment, to be exact. You can’t receive this treatment if you’re sunburned — or even if you have a tan. Summer might not be the best time to start laser hair removal if you’re a fan of the outdoors. A lot of people start treatments in the fall or winter in order to have stubble-free skin by summer!

Remember to use SPF of at least 30 on the treated areas afterwards so that you avoid the risk of getting hyperpigmentation.
